How do I prove to my BOSS I am getting the
BEST deal for our Scrap Catalytic Converters? – Part B

How do I prove to my BOSS I am getting the
BEST deal for our Scrap Catalytic Converters? - Part B

MB:
Is it really that simple?
CG:

It really is. The fact that business has been conducted via auctions for thousands of years tells us how reliable and durable they are as a powerful and effective selling method.

We admire the simplicity of the auction process, here is how it works for you and your company on our site for your converters on our site:

  • The Seller posts their scrap catalytic converters for sale via an auction process.
  • The Auction allows both “assay” offers and “per unit” offers.
  • The Auction is open to ANY and ALL Scrap Converter Buyers. All Buyers are welcomed and invited to Bid on all converter auctions. AT NO COST to them!
  • Bids are received. The highest bid is obvious to all. Pick the highest one.

MB:
OK, simple transactions. I get that and appreciate it. But how does auctioning converters confirm for the Boss that the GM made the right decision in how to sell the converters?
SV:

The Auction process confirms the decision and the process by making it obvious to everyone which decision is the best one to maximize the value of the Company’s converters.

Let me give you an example:

Let’s say the GM posted his LOT of Converters on ScrapCATapp.com and received the following Bids:

Buyer A’s bid is for $10,000.

Buyer B’s bid is for $7,000.

And

Buyer C’s bid is for $5,000.

The deal that is best for the company is obvious. One does not have to be a Converter expert to know that in order to maximize the converter value, you choose the highest bid!

MB:
I get that. Every buyer puts in their best offer, you choose the highest offer – it is hard to argue with that simple process.
SV:

Exactly. Auctions will prove to a Boss – in a way that will be instantly understood (All you have to do is show the page with all the bids and show that you chose the highest bidder) – that you, as a GM, are being a good steward and making decisions that are in the best interests of the Company.

CG:

The other thing about our auction platform is that it eliminates all of the confusion and babble when buyers talk about selling your catalytic converters by assays vs. selling your catalytic converters per unit.

MB:
OK, so let’s say we post our converters on your online auction marketplace and buyer’s bid. What if our current buyer still tells my Boss he could have paid more? What if the Buyer tells my Boss he left money on the table by not selling by Assay?
CG:

Well, this is the question isn’t it? Remember when I said our auctions are open to ALL buyers? And remember when I said it is completely free for buyers to participate and make bids? Let me confirm this for you. ScrapCATapp encourages ALL buyers to join and make bids on all auctions. We do not charge buyers to join, we train them for free, and we help them grow their business by giving them access to thousands of converters and Sellers that they would never have the opportunity to buy from. There are a lot of buyers who LOVE us. But... There are some that don’t.

SV:

We can’t force buyers to make bids, and we cannot understand a buyer who would not participate given there is no barrier of entry and no additional cost to them…. But we do know the real reason a buyer will tell you that they cannot use our system to bid on your converters…

CG:

The sad truth is that most buyers who refuse to bid on your converters via auction know they can’t compete. It is either that or they are afraid of the outcome of just competing on price. Most converter buyers try to make the transaction complicated and assure you that they are taking care of you (and your Boss!), they talk about numbers, and codes, and assays. They try to complicate the transaction and eliminate any competition. Their last-ditch effort is to tell you that they can’t buy converters that way or that buying converters via auction just isn’t how they do business. (What happened to Auto wreckers that told insurance companies this very same thing?)

SV:

If a buyer tells you that you are making a mistake and should be selling on an assay basis, you can simply tell them to quit trying to make things confusing and to compete for your scrap catalytic converters and make an assay bid!
